Pastor Keith McCullough was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, moved to the Washington, DC area in 1986 and worked for a local law firm until he started his Information Technology career in the federal government. Pastor Keith gave his life to Christ in 1990 and was baptized later the same year. He received his call to the foreign missions field in 1998. During his time on the mission field, he served in Uganda, Kenya, and Brazil. Pastor McCullough joined the First Baptist Church of Sterling in 2000 where he accepted his call to preach the Gospel. He received his license to preach in October 2003 and was ordained as the Pastor of Foreign Missions in July 2004. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Pastoral Ministry and is currently pursuing his Masters of Arts degree in Biblical Counseling and Masters of Divinity with a focus on Biblical Counseling from Trinity College of the Bible Theological Seminary.
In 2007, Pastor McCullough and his wife Annette joined seven other families in establishing Covenant Christian Academy. His son, Akili, attends CCA.

Jim Sabia is the Head of Mobile Design for United Online, where he consults with the company’s business units in Los Angeles, San Francisco and Seattle helping to guide the product design and development of key mobile-first growth initiatives.
Jim and his wife Amber are founding family members of CCA and have four children: Sienna, Isabella, Andrew, and Aven who all attend CCA. In addition to his duties on the Board, he is CCA’s Athletic Coordinator and coaches the Girls’ Volleyball Team.
Jim is an active member of Community Christian Fellowship (CCF), CCA’s current host church, where he has served as a member of the church board. He also enjoys leading Sunday Bible study for the 4th and 5th graders and is a member of CCF’s Men’s Accountability Group where he meets weekly with other men to study God’s Word and fellowship.

Paul Fernandez is a contracting officer with the U.S. Government, acting as a liaison to the private sector on financial and accounting matters related to the acquisition of products and services. Prior to his public sector role, he assumed various private sector roles in Finance, Marketing, and Product Management. He is married to Kimberly (a former CCA Assistant Teacher) and together they have three children: Amber, Alexis, and Austin. In addition to his duties on the Board, he coaches the CCA Cross Country Team. In his spare time, he enjoys leisurely walks with his family and Westie.
Meredith earned her bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Grove City College and taught for five years before having her first child and deciding to stay home. She returned to teaching at CCA in 2011 and now teaches 4th grade. The opportunity to teach at CCA and have her children attend has been a blessing to her and her family.
Meredith lives in Nokesville with her husband Brett and their three daughters. She is an active member of Greenwich Presbyterian Church where she served as a deacon for three years. She enjoys reading, cooking and spending time with her family, when not acting as a chauffeur for her children.

Amber Sabia, Head of School, Founder
Biblical Inspiration: Colossians 2:2-3
Amber has been involved with Covenant Christian Academy since its inception in 2007. As a member of one of the founding families, she prayerfully developed the initial partnership with the National Association of University-Model® Schools (NAUMS). Since then, Mrs. Sabia has been directly involved in all stages of school growth, and has served in a variety of leadership roles. Amber’s training and experience in office management and student ministry enhance her calling to lead the community of CCA. As a singer, instrumentalist, and songwriter, Amber also leads worship at Community Christian Fellowship Church. Her love for Jesus overflows into her ministry at CCA as she challenges students, parents, and teachers to grow in their personal relationship with Jesus through passionate worship, purposeful Bible study, and intentional prayer.
Amber lives in Warrenton with her family. She has four children enrolled at CCA. The Sabia family has been part of the University-Model® approach to education for over nine years, and it has blessed them beyond measure.
Amanda Bryson, Assistant Head of School
Biblical Inspiration: Deuteronomy 6:4-9
Amanda is a licensed K-12 teacher and educational leader with over 10 years of experience in public, private and home education. Her role at CCA is focused on whole-school development including strategic planning and accreditation. After graduating from Grove City College with a degree in English and Communications, Amanda felt called into teaching. She completed her M.Ed. at George Mason University and taught in Fairfax County Public Schools for five years. While caring for her young children, Amanda traded the K-12 classroom for the lecture hall, training in-service and preservice teachers across the Commonwealth. Amanda is currently pursuing her doctoral degree in educational leadership at Liberty University.
Amanda started homeschooling her twin daughters in kindergarten, and loved the time spent together as a family and the ability to integrate biblical values into academic studies. She was drawn to the loving, Christ-centered community at CCA as a place to enhance and support her home education efforts. Amanda lives with her husband and three children in Gainesville.
Andrea Sponsler, Dean of Academics

Andrea is a licensed teacher in the Commonwealth of Virginia. After finishing her degree in elementary education at Indiana Wesleyan University, Andrea taught for five years in Loudoun County Public Schools before deciding to stay at home with her children. Upon returning to the professional education field, Andrea gained experience teaching at CCA in both the classroom and satellite settings. Her role at Covenant focuses on utilizing this wide range of perspectives to focus on curriculum evaluation and implementation, in addition to providing professional development opportunities, support and encouragement for teachers and parent co-teachers. Andrea ensures implementation of instructional best practices and monitors and evaluates academic performance. Andrea is currently enrolled in graduate-level leadership courses through Liberty University.
Andrea is married to Jonathan and they have three children, Hollis, Rogan, and Hazel. They all attend CCA and the unique University-Model® of schooling has been a blessing to their entire family.
